Yes, you can. IELTS/TOEFL is a University requirement, not a country requirement. If you are studying in other languages apart from English then you need not worry about IELTS/TOEFL exam. Even if you are studying in English, many Universities in Europe will accept you without an IELTS/TOFEL test. You need to be able to carry out your study in English though. They will access your capability via online interview, Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter from your previous college or school and other means.
The living cost in Europe varies greatly between cities and countries. Some cities like London, Paris and Geneva are very expensive to live in. However, living cost for international students can be covered at around $600 on average at most European cities. This covers accommodation, food, clothing and travel. This estimate is based upon living on a flat sharing basis.
You can work but students from outside European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) have restriction on the number of hours they can work on a student visa. In Germany you can work 120 full days or 240 half days per year on student visa. In Netherlands, international students can work a maximum of 16 hours per week. You can work up to 20 hours per week outside of campus but not exceeding 964 hours per year in France. Other countries also have similar provisions.
You can find jobs at your own University, supermarkets, groceries, gas stations etc. Good students easily find opportunity to work as assistants to their professors. Knowledge of local language is a must if you want to find good jobs outside campus
It varies from country to country. The minimum wage in Belgium is €9.49 per hour. It is €9.76 in France, €8.84 in Germany, €9.25 in Ireland, €9.03 in Netherlands and €3.75 in Portugal. Countries like Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Italy have no minimum wage.
No, you cannot. Many countries in Europe allow you to take short courses on travel visas but these courses must be less than three months in duration in most cases. The courses you can take during this duration are language courses and training. You will require a student visa to study in a University or college.
It will be very difficult for you to obtain student visa in Europe with a criminal record. Sometimes students with petty offences like drunken driving and minor assault get a visa but having a clean criminal record is must before applying for a visa.

Schengen area represents 26 different European nations who abolished their border for free travel between themselves. Any visa that is obtained for travel to these countries is referred to as Schengen visa. If the visa is for study then it is known as Schengen student visa. The visa is normally only valid for 90 days. Students whose course lasts longer than 90 days need to apply for residency permit. You can apply for residency permit once you enter the destination country. The residency permit is stamped in your passport like a visa.
You will need to show an original bank statement that has sufficient fund to cover your study and living expenses in Europe. The bank balance must normally be sufficient for a year of study and living cost. You should also show other valid sources of income to support your cost of studying and living. In case you are being sponsored by someone outside of your immediate family, you must show proof of acquaintance and a letter of intent from your sponsor.
You will need a medical and travel insurance that covers the entire duration of your study in Europe. The policy period must not start latter than the day of your arrival. You must include insurance documentation at the time of visa application.
It’s free for students. The general cost of visa application for adults is €60 but the fee is waived for students.
It depends. Some Universities will allow you to transfer credit but it depends upon the similarity of the course you took and the one you will be taking, the quality of your current course, your performance etc. Even if you are allowed to transfer credit, you won’t be allowed to transfer full credit. The amount of credit you will be allowed to transfer also depends upon the factors mentioned earlier.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST FOR EUROPE STUDENT VISA
Students who want to study in Europe from Nepal must have the following documents during application process:
- Passport which is valid for your entire duration of stay in Europe.
- Letter of acceptance from your University.
- Proof of finance. This must either be in the form of a bank balance, income source or sponsorship agreement. The financial arrangement must cover your study and living expense in Europe.
- Accommodation arrangement in your destination and travel booking.
- A couple of recently taken passport size photo.
- Medical and Travel Insurance.
- Properly filled and signed application form.
- Your academic certificates till date (including character certificates).
- Proof of English Proficiency Test like TOEFL/IELTS.
